Campus Safety

Campus safety and security is coordinated by the University Police Department. Their mission statement reads, “Our mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for our University Community, to ensure a crime-free environment with a commitment to professional service, active crime prevention and proactive patrols.”

The University Police Department provides an around the clock daily patrol operation to protect and render aid to the University community.

Other services include:
• Emergency telephones at various campus locations (yellow phones with blue lights)
• Escort services for students, faculty, and staff (Community Service Officers)
• Lighting surveys for building, area and parking lots
• Operation ID engraving
• Loan A Bike Program
• 9-1-1 capability from all university phones
