1) What are the basic requirements for admission for transfer students?
To be eligible for admission, transfer students must meet the following
requirements
60 transferable units (84 quarter units)
which include:
- A minimum of 30 semester units (45 quarter units) in CSU-approved General Education Coursework with a grade of C or better*
- The “Golden Four” requirements with a grade of C or better:
- Oral Communication
- Written Communication
- Critical Thinking
- Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning
- A 2.0 or higher cumulative grade point average (2.4 for nonresidents)
- In good academic standing at the last college or university attended
*Including Language other than English; 2 years in the same language
(3 years recommended)
Cal State Fullerton has postponed for two years
the second language graduation requirement that was scheduled to
take effect in fall 2006 in order to further study the impact of
this requirement on enrollment. Students can satisfy this graduation
requirement prior to entering CSUF or after they have been admitted
to the university by demonstrating an intermediate level proficiency
in a language other than English. For more information about this

The “Golden Four” requirements are basic skills which are required of all university students. To be eligible for admission, transfer students must complete all four of the following courses with a grade of C or better at least one semester prior to enrolling in Cal State Fullerton:

General education certification is a process by which community colleges certify that all lower division (or first two years) general education courses have been completed. Although this isn’t required for admission for transfer students, it is strongly recommended. Transfer students who do not complete general education certification will be held to the same general education requirements as entering freshmen. All students who graduate from Cal State Fullerton are required to complete at least 9 units in upper division general education coursework. Transfer students who have completed all of their lower division general education requirements and been certified by a California community college will only be required to complete 9 units of upper division coursework after they transfer to the University.
Students who transfer without completing general education certification will need to complete whatever lower division requirements have not been satisfied in the University’s general education curriculum as well as the 9 units of upper division general education units. To be eligible for admission, most adult reentry transfer students must meet all of the following requirements:

There are two services available to assist women and men in their transitions as they return to college life. The Women’s Center provides support, information and resources to help students explore issues of gender equity and cultural diversity as well as domestic violence prevention. The Adult Reentry Center serves adults who are returning to college after a break in their education and provides assistance with university application and registration procedures, as well as personal, academic and career counseling. Credit for coursework completed at regionally accredited institutions, other than remedial coursework or that which is identified as nontransferable coursework, is generally accepted for credit at Cal State Fullerton. In addition, to be readmitted any student who has been academically
disqualified from Cal State Fullerton must raise their Cal State
Fullerton cumulative grade point average to at least a 2.0 by enrolling
in classes through the University’s Extended Education program.

Please Note: Using community college courses to
raise your GPA to above a 2.0 will not satisfy readmission requirements
to Cal State Fullerton. Using community college courses as a means

If you have been academically disqualified from Cal State Fullerton, special action must be taken in order for you to be considered for readmission to the university.
