Next Steps to Enrolling at Cal State Fullerton

Congratulations on your admission to the University! Now that you?ve been admitted, the following steps will enable you to make a smooth transition from your community college into Cal State Fullerton.

  1. Admission:
    • Review your admission notice carefully ? including your confidential Campus Wide Identification Number (CWID) and PIN and your campus email address. Your CWID and PIN are required to register for classes and to access all of your personal information at the University so keep them handy and keep them safe.
    • Send transcripts and documentation by the due dates. Be sure to send your official transcripts by the date listed in your admission notice and all other documents requested by the dates they are due.
    • If ?Golden Four? courses are in progress, provide an early grade report for each class as soon as you possibly can. If you are currently enrolled in your Oral Communication, Written Communication, Critical Thinking and/or Mathematics course(s), you can be admitted faster by providing the University?s Admissions Office with an early grade report from each of these classes as soon as possible after your class(es) end. Your application will be evaluated and an admission decision will be made approximately 6-8 weeks after your file is complete.
    • Don?t forget your final transcript(s). After you have completed your last semester, send an official transcript to Cal State Fullerton?s Office of Admissions and Records.
  2. GENERAL EDUCATION CERTIFICATION: If you have completed either the CSU General Education Breadth requirements or the IGETC for CSU transfer, your general education courses may be certified by your community college?s Admissions Office. For more information about G.E. Certification, you may contact your community college?s Admissions Office, Transfer Center or Counseling Center.
  3. ACADEMIC ADVISING:
    • Attend Transfer Student Orientation. CSUF?s Transfer Student Orientation Program will enable you to learn about the University?s graduation requirements, policies, and support services and to meet with advisors who will assist you with both your major and upper-division general education requirements. Attending an orientation for transfer students is mandatory for students enrolling in or after Fall 2007 and is necessary to help you complete your degree successfully and in a timely manner. More information about the University?s Orientation Program is available at www.fullerton.edu/orientation or (657) 278-2501.
    • If you don?t attend NSO, see your advisors. At Cal State Fullerton, you will need to see advisors in both your major department as well as at the Academic Advisement Center (AAC). Major advisors are usually faculty and are specially equipped to help you plan your program for your intended major. The advisors in the AAC will assist you with your remaining general education and other graduation requirements. It?s critical to meet with both advisors.
    • Keep a file for all of your student records and take it with you when you see advisors. Your file should include a recent copy of your transcript(s) and advising materials you have received from counselors at your community college. As you work with advisors at CSUF, continually update your records so you can keep track of your progress toward earning your degree.
    • Titan Degree Audit (TDA). After you are officially admitted to CSUF, you will receive a postcard notifying you that your TDA is available and instructions on how to access your TDA through the University?s web site. The TDA is a computerized advising guide that provides you with an evaluation of how your transfer credits will be applied toward degree requirements and a list of graduation requirements you have still need to fulfill. For assistance in using your TDA, you may see the advisors in the University?s Academic Advisement Center.
  4. Registration:
    • Registration is conducted through CSUF?s TITAN Online or Telephone Registration System. You will be assigned a time and date to register based on your class level and units already completed and verified at the time of your admission. Detailed instructions on how to access and enroll in classes is available in the Schedule of Classes or at the campus web site at www.fullerton.edu/titanonline.
