The unexpected and unprecedented circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 crisis in Spring 2020 has led to three changes to our normative evaluation processes
Lecturer Evaluations Conducted in Spring 2020
All lecturer evaluation cases with hardcopy (paper) WPAFs that were reviewed by the Department Peer Review Committee will be continued into Fall 2020 when the Chairs and Deans (if applicable) will complete their evaluations. Chair evaluations will be due 9/21/2020 and Deans on 10/30/2020. All lecturer evaluation cases with hardcopy (paper) WPAFs that were NOT yet reviewed by the Department Peer Review Committee will undergo evaluation in Spring 2021 according to the 2020-2021 Lecturer Evaluation Timetables (an updated WPAF shall be submitted). Please see the following document for all of the details.
Probationary Period Extension Opportunity
Probationary faculty may request an extension of their probationary period by the first day of the Academic Year of 2020-2021, 2021-2022, or 2022-2023. To do so, the COVID-19 Probationary Period Extension Request Form must be submitted to FAR.
Choice to Exclude Spring 2020 SOQs and Grade Distribution Data
All faculty members are provided with the option to exclude the Student Opinion Questionnaires (SOQs) and/or Grade Distribution Data (GDD) from any courses taught in Spring 2020 from their Working Personnel Action Files of future evaluations. Faculty shall complete the following form and submit it in their Working Personnel Action Files in lieu of specific course SOQs and/or GDD from Spring 2020 if they choose to exercise this option.
