CSUF's Range Elevation evaluation policy is described in UPS 210.070 and is governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and an MOU between the CSU and CFA that is in effect until June 30, 2020 .
The Range Elevation eligibility list indicates which lecturers are eligible to apply in the 2018-2019 cycle.
Eligible faculty who intend to apply must submit the Range Elevation Declaration Form .
The period of review for this optional evaluation is from Fall 2013 to present. Please note that the Range Elevation evaluation is separate from, and does not replace, any other required evaluations. Candidates and reviewers will use the Interfolio evaluation system. Access to Interfolio is available through the CSUF faculty portal. You will be notified when your case is created and you can begin uploading your materials into the 12 categories comprising your packet.
The deadline for eligible candidates to submit their Working Personnel Action File (WPAF) through Interfolio and the hard-copy, checklist form to their Chair is Monday, February 25, 2019 at 5:00pm. Faculty will be evaluated in accordance with the University Policy Statement on the Evaluation of Lecturers (210.070) and, when existing, approved departmental policies . The Provost’s decision on Range Elevation will be issued by June 28, 2019. Please note that receipt of a previous FMI will not affect eligibility for Range Elevation. A Range Elevation is accompanied by a salary increase of 5% or the percentage increase necessary to reach the minimum of the next range, whichever is greater.

What is the difference between an Academic Year (AY or 10-month) and a 12-month (12-mo) position? How do I know which one I am?
If you are asking the question, then you are probably Academic Year! Most CSUF faculty are in an Academic Year position, which means they work during the school year, and they are off during the summer. However, both Academic Year and 12-mo faculty are paid in 12 monthly paychecks. That way Academic Year faculty can continue to receive salary and benefits during the summer.
An example of a 12-mo faculty position would be a librarian faculty that works throughout the year and does not get a summer break. Or a faculty member who directs a center on campus which is open year round.
If you only teach one semester per year, you will normally receive your pay in 6 monthly paychecks.
How do I use the CSU Salary Schedule?
Example: If you are an Academic Year lecturer, Range 2, then enter “2358” for the classification code. This will bring up a table showing the minimum and maximum for the different lecturer ranges. Then click on Range 2 for more information. Doing that will also reveal the Service Maximum for that particular range.
