The
steps to setting up a budget are really quite simple: (1) Create
a list of all of your sources of income; (2) Create a list of
all of your monthly expenses; (3) If your income covers all of
your expenses great, however, there may still be areas where you
could trim your budget and be able to save more of your money;
or (4) If your income does not cover all of your expenses then
you definitely need to find areas to make budget cuts. Sometimes
it can be as simple as taking your lunch to work instead of eating
out every day. Other times it may mean making major changes like
moving to a smaller apartment or by driving a vehicle that you
can realistically afford. The most important part of maintaining
a workable budget is to constantly review and adjust it according
to your actual spending. So while the steps to establishing a
budget are simple, it takes effort to maintain a workable budget
but the rewards are well worth the effort.
