Robert Alvarado
Robert Alvarado is Vice President of Marketing and Ticket Sales for Angels Baseball. Alvarado leads a team of marketing and sales professionals that delivers one of the best live entertainment values in professional sports. Robert oversees all aspects of marketing, including club advertising, promotions, ticket product development, special events, angels.com and venue entertainment. The sales and service of ticket products are also within his scope of responsibility and include premium suites, season seats and group sales.
During Alvarado's tenure, the Angels have been voted the No. 1 MLB organization by ESPN the Magazine's "Ultimate Standings" in terms of fan experience and value for eight straight years, and achieved the No. 1 spot among all major professional sports franchises in 2009. As a result, the Angels have consistently ranked in the top five in MLB attendance, including nine consecutive seasons of 3 million-plus visitors (2003–11).
Alvarado joined the Angels organization in 2000 as Director of Marketing, a position he held through 2004 and, in a dual marketing role, also served as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim's Director of Marketing for the 2000 through 2002 seasons.
A native Southern Californian, Robert spent six years with the Coors Brewing Company, serving in multiple roles. His latest position was as Manager, Business Development in Golden, Colorado.
Alvarado graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 1987 with a degree in communications. He serves as the Advisory Board Chair for the Orange County Salvation Army, on the Board of Governors for CSUF Philanthropic Foundation, and on the Advisory Board for CSUF Entertainment & Tourism. Alvarado and his wife Kathy reside in Tustin Ranch with their daughters, Lauren and Julia.
