Jo Bandy
Jo Etta Bandy is senior vice president of corporate communications for The First American Corporation. She is responsible for overseeing all facets of First American's corporate communications efforts, which include media and public relations and internal employee communications and messaging, as well as corporate branding and reputation management.
Bandy, who joined The First American Corporation in 1998 as director of corporate communications, was promoted to vice president, corporate communications in November 1999, and in June 2007 was named senior vice president, corporate communications. She is a current board member and past chairperson for the First American Homeownership Foundation, a member of The First American Corporation' National Advisory Council, and serves on the First American Federal Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee.
Prior to joining First American, Bandy worked for Market Pathways Financial Relations, an Irvine, Calif.-based financial public relations consulting firm, where she served as vice president of broker and media relations from 1995 to 1998. Before that, she served four years as vice president, investor relations for Fidelity National Financial. From 1980 to 1990, Bandy worked for Covington Development Group, a publicly traded real estate development company, serving in numerous management positions, including vice president of corporate communications, director of investor relations, public relations manager and corporate secretary.
Bandy earned a bachelor's degree in communications-public relations sequence from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), and she holds a Certificate in Management Effectiveness from the University of Southern California.
An active member in community and industry organizations, Bandy serves as a member of CSUF's Blue Ribbon Committee in connection with the university's annual fundraising gala, Front & Center. She is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and is a former board member for the organization's Orange County Chapter, where she has served as membership committee chairperson and communications committee chairperson. She is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America and has served as a judge for that organization’s prestigious national Bronze Anvil Awards. In addition, Bandy serves on the board of Gold Rush Cure Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization recently formed for the purpose of raising awareness and funding for childhood cancer.
