Paul F. Folino
Paul Folino, a native of Washington, earned his undergraduate degree from Central Washington State University and his MBA from Seattle University. Soon after graduation, Mr. Folino began a career in sales at Xerox Corporation and was part of the original Xerox team responsible for launching Ethernet networking products into the marketplace.
In 1984, Folino joined Eczel Corporation, a Fortune 500 company and a national distributor of microcomputers, supplies, accessories and peripherals, as Vice President and General Manager. By 1986, he was serving as President and Chief Operating Officer.
In 1990, Mr. Folino joined the Thomas-Conrad Corporation as Managing Director of International Business. Within a short period of time, he was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer and helped the company achieve record sales growth from $18 million to nearly $60 million. During Paul’s tenure, the company was also recognized by INC. Magazine as one of the fastest growing privately held corporations in America.
In 1993, Mr. Folino joined Emulex Corporation as President and Chief Executive Officer. He presently holds the title of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Mr. Folino serves as head of the NYSE publicly traded corporation with a market capitalization of nearly $1 billion and over 82.5 million shares outstanding. Today Emulex is the #1 worldwide market share leader in fibre channel host bus adapters and was recently recognized as having the #1 performing public stock in Orange County for the decade of the 90’s. Mr. Folino was also recognized as the 1999 Orange County Co-Entrepreneur of the Year for technology as well as Ernst & Young’s 2000 Orange County Director of the Year for high growth technology.
As a passionate advocate and benefactor of the arts and higher education, Mr. Folino sits on several non-profit boards including Cal State Fullerton’s College of Business and Economics Dean’s Advisory Council, the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Chapman University’s Board of Trustees and Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation Board of Governors.
In recognition of his leadership and financial support of Cal State Fullerton’s Mihaylo College of Business & Economics, Mr. Folino has the distinction of having the only campus street named in honor of an individual—Folino Drive.
Paul lives in Orange County with his wife, Daranne, and daughter Courtney.
