D. Edward Hays
Ed Hays is a founding partner of Marshack Hays LLP, a law firm in Irvine, and has been practicing business litigation and bankruptcy for the last 17 years. Ed graduated with honors from California State University, Fullerton in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and from the University of Southern California Law Center in 1992 where he was a member of the Hale Moot Court Honors program. Ed was admitted to practice in 1992.
Ed practices in federal and state courts in Southern California representing creditors, debtors and bankruptcy trustees in all aspects of civil litigation. Many of Ed's cases have resulted in opinions published by various Courts of Appeal as precedent for future litigants.
Ed has served as the Chair of the Orange County Bar Association's Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section and has frequently presented lectures to other attorneys of a range of legal issues. In addition to serving on the Philanthropic Foundation Board of Governors, Ed previously served as the President of the Alumni Association.
Ed lives with his wife, Joanneāalso an attorney, and their children in West Covina. He actively participates in triathlons completing full-distance Ironman events in 2000 and 2003. In 2004, Ed also won the State Bar 5k race and, in 2005, was the runner-up.
