Geoffrey S. Payne As a lawyer and real estate broker, Geoffrey Payne has been acquiring, developing and managing real estate projects for over 30 years. Mr. Payne has a Bachelor's degree in finance from Cal State Fullerton, and he was employed for several years with a multinational company in various financial management and accounting positions. During that time, Mr. Payne obtained his juris doctor from Loyola Law School, eventually becoming partner in a well-known Orange County law firm. As a lawyer, Mr. Payne represented banks, lenders, real estate developers, family trusts and other real estate and corporate interests.

Mr. Payne left practicing with law firms in 1999 and began developing and managing real estate projects on a full time basis. Recent projects of Tahiti Partners and Geoffrey Payne's include more than 100 homes in the Coachella Valley, California, other subdivisions of commercial and residential lots, and commercial and apartment projects, throughout the western United States. Mr. Payne is the broker and a partner of Payne/Roland & Company, a real estate brokerage in Long Beach, California, and is the broker and principal of GJ Property Services, Inc., a commercial property management company that has been doing business in Long Beach for more than 30 years. He manages numerous commercial and residential properties in metropolitan Los Angeles, as well.

Mr. Payne has taught and spoken to many real estate groups including being a keynote and panel speaker for IREM, BOMA, and the State Bar of California and he has written several articles on commercial leases and commercial real estate transactions. Among many successes he has had in the real estate industry, Mr. Payne successfully defended one of the largest and oldest apartment property management companies in California in an action by the Environmental Protection Agency regarding lead disclosures. He also teaches a popular class on investing in apartment buildings, which is taught on a worldwide basis. In his capacities as an attorney, real estate broker and principal, he has handled the sale, purchases and financing of more than 40,000 apartment units and billions of dollars of other purchases, sales and financings of real estate

Mr. Payne has been active with many charitable and professional organizations and was a board member and two-term President of Cedar House, a center for abused children. In Cal State Fullerton's Philanthropic Foundation Board of Governors, Mr. Payne is a member of California State University, Fullerton's Mihaylo College of Business and Economics Dean's Advisory Board as well as the College's Real Estate and Land Use Institute Advisory Board. In addition, he is currently a member of the International City Theatre and the Long Beach Grand Prix Foundation.
