I am a Guardian Scholar, and I am very grateful to everyone who supports the program for former foster youth such as myself. I am a junior majoring in health science, and I plan to continue at Cal State Fullerton after graduation and get my master’s degree in nursing. I am looking forward to becoming a surgical nurse after gaining experience in emergency medicine. I heard about the Guardian Scholar’s program through my foster parents, and then I applied for the scholarship with the help of the Orangewood Children’s Foundation. I love the Guardian Scholars. They are truly like a family. They are there for me financially and emotionally – they do everything that a family does for a student. I also work part time as a student-caller for the Titan Fund. I enjoy my job, because I know how important fundraising is to the university. I want to thank all of those who donate to the Guardian Scholars program. It makes a difference.
