Aaron Salcido

Not only am I the first to go to college in my family, but I got a full scholarship. It was a great accomplishment, so it’s something that I’m very proud of. My parents always taught us the value of an education, to keep that high on our list, and I did, taking honors classes and such. Growing up with that kind of mindset, college wasn’t an issue, it was an expectation. I was in awe of the President’s Scholars program, and I really wanted to be a part of it. I’m maintaining my grades, I’m working a steady job, I’ve studied abroad in England at Kingston University. And doing all of that, I’m still able to focus on my studies and stay on top of things so I can get to my graduation and make my family proud. Being able to accomplish that is something that is important to me.
