Peer Mentor Programs Mission Statement/Purpose

About the Freshman Programs Peer Mentor Program
Freshman Programs Peer Mentors are upper-division students who join a First Year Success Team along with a faculty member and Student Services Professional to support first-year students in a section of UNIV 100:  Foundations for College Success and Lifelong Learning – for the Fullerton First Year, Compass or Fullerton Future Teachers learning communities.  The Peer Mentor plays an active role in class discussions and meets with individual students to serve as a resource and role model.

Purpose:  The Freshman Programs Peer Mentor Program is designed to assist first-year students in their social, personal and academic transition to Cal State Fullerton by providing a peer mentor in each section of University 100 who acts as a resource, support system and role model.
