Why I love CSUF? Cal State Fullerton has always been so welcoming to me. As a first generation college student, the new student orientation session I attended prior to the first day of class was the very first time I had ever set foot on a college campus. Since then, I have been introduced to numerous volunteer and leadership opportunities as well as events that have helped better me both academically as well as professionally. I would not be the same outgoing and involved student that I am today if it were not for all of the events and opportunities I have experienced on campus here at Cal State Fullerton. I attribute my success to this school and I am proud to call myself a Titan.
Why is Freshman Programs important to you? Freshman Programs helped make my transition from high school to college an enjoyable experience. I was exposed to numerous leadership opportunities through my University 100 class, and I have made so many new friendships with other Freshman Programs students. My Peer Mentor helped me put my foot in the door when it came to being informed on the various clubs and organizations on campus, and it was nice to be able to talk to someone who had been in my footsteps only a year before me. Freshman Programs is a program dedicated to freshmen and has helped me discover and utilize all the free resources CSUF has to offer. Since I have had such an amazing experience with this program, I thought nothing more but to continue my journey in it and help incoming freshman grow and develop as much as I have.
Fun/Interesting Fact: You can find me on campus this year giving tours as I am a new addition to the Titan Ambassadors (Tour Guides)!
Advice you would like to give to freshmen: Attend your professor’s office hours and ask questions! There is no such thing as a “stupid” question!
