Mihaylo First Year

Business confernce room with red chair Welcome to our newest learning community!  This learning community was designed to introduce you to the wide range of opportunities within the business and economic industries.

If you plan to major in Accounting, Finance, or International Business, or similar fields, then Mihaylo First Year learning community is the best choice!

The Mihaylo First Year learning community is an academic year-long experience (fall and spring semesters) which focuses on providing an introduction to the different concentrations and emphases within Mihaylo College of Business and Economics. By participating in this learning community you will get assistance with charting an academic and career path just right for you!

Be admitted to CSUF as a first-time freshman student (college transfer students are not eligible). Contact the Office of Admission and Records with admissions questions, 657.278.7601.


Complete the online Application today. First consideration will be given to students who apply by May 1.  Applications will be accepted until all spaces in the program are filled. You may also contact Freshman Programs by email at or visit our office in Langsdorf Hall (LH) 216.

All incoming freshman students must attend New Student Orientation (NSO). To join Freshman Programs, students are required to attend NSO. Please visit for NSO registration information.
