Do I have to attend new student orientation?
Yes, all first-time freshmen admitted for fall 2008 must register for a New Student Orientation session in order to attend Cal State Fullerton. Registering for NSO confirms your intent to attend CSUF. If you do not register for a session date, you will risk losing your admissions offer to the university. Register for new student orienation at www.fullerton.edu/orientation.
Do I have to take a placement test ?
All first-time freshman (unless exempt) must take the ELM (Entry Level Mathematics) and/or EPT (English Placement Test) in order to participate in Freshman Programs and register for fall 2008 classes. Your Notice of Admission indicates whether you are required to take either or both of these tests. If you haven’t satisfied these requirements yet, please do so ASAP; without EPT & ELM scores, you cannot register for classes. To register to take the exams, visit the Testing website at www.fullerton.edu/testing. If you are exempt from these exams based on your SAT scores, this requirement does not apply to you.
What if I have to take prepatory coursework?
- If you place into a Math and/or English course that is below a 100 level, we strongly encourage you to consider taking the required courses in summer 2008. This will help you stay on track for an on-time graduation and help you connect with university resources.
- For more information on taking summer remedial classes, please contact the Academic Advising Center at 714.278.3601.
Where do I send my high school transcripts and advance placement (AP) scores?
FINAL TRANSCRIPTS
- Send your final high school transcripts to the Office of Admissions & Records upon graduation.
- If you have any questions contact the Office of Admissions & Records at 714.278.7601 or visit their website at www.fullerton.edu/admissions
ADVANCED PLACEMENT TESTS
- If you are currently taking Advanced Placement classes and are not exempt from the CSU placement tests, please be aware that your AP test scores will not be available by the first week of June. Because of this timing, you must take the EPT and ELM tests by May 3 as a precautionary measure to ensure your ability to register for courses during New Student Orientation.
- Please make sure Cal State Fullerton is identified as a campus to receive your AP test scores. These scores need to be turned in to the Admission and Records office. Without AP scores, academic advisors will be unable to appropriately advise and place you into your fall 2008 courses. If you have the scores available, it is also helpful to bring copies of your test scores with you to New Student Orientation
