California State University, Fullerton

Established in 1996, Front & Center is an annual winter entertainment extravaganza presented by Cal State Fullerton. The event serves as a mechanism to broaden the university’s visibility and influence in Orange County and Southern California, cultivate prospective supporters for the university, and provide funds for academic enrichment and student scholarships such as the President’s Scholars program.

Through the generosity of individuals, corporate partners and the event’s planning and steering support group, the
Blue Ribbon Committee, Front & Center has ensured that hundreds of exceptional students achieve their dream of obtaining a four-year college education.

Previous events over the years have featured a wide variety of legendary personalities and entertainers including: General Colin Powell, Michael Eisner, Walter Cronkite, Bill Cosby, Tony Bennett, Whoopi Goldberg, Christopher Reeve, Natalie Cole, Kenny Loggins, The Doobie Brothers, Gladys Knight, Chicago, Stevie Nicks, Reba McEntire and the Steve Miller Band.

In addition to the thrilling headline performances by some of the country’s top entertainers, Front & Center also features the talents of many notable Cal State Fullerton alumni who serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event such as Marc Cherry, creator and executive producer of TV’s “Desperate Housewives,” international opera star, Rod Gilfry, and NHRA Funny Car champion, Ashley Force Hood.

Adding further to the excitement, the Front & Center event also showcases special musical performances by student artists from the university’s award-winning College of the Arts.
