Graduation Information

Master's or Doctoral Degree Candidates

Graduate students are required to file and pay for a graduation check by the deadline listed below. You must apply for graduation online via your Titan Online Student Center. You must be a currently enrolled Classified student at CSUF to apply for graduation. The $115 graduation fee must be paid IMMEDIATELY after applying for the graduation check online. You are not considered a candidate for graduation until the fee is paid in full amount.

Applying for Graduation Online

How to Apply for a Graduation Check:

  1. Log in to the Student Portal (www.fullerton.edu).
  2. Go to the “Student Homepage.”
  3. Click on the “Academic Records” tile.
  4. Select Apply/Pay for Graduation from the left menu.
  5. Select your current Academic Graduate Program.
  6. Use the drop-down menu to select your expected graduation term and click continue.  Choosing the incorrect semester will cause issues with your grad check application; please confirm you are clicking the correct semester.
  7. Review the graduation instructions, then click continue.
  8. Verify the information listed is correct, then click Submit Application. (Please note your graduation check application is incomplete until you pay the $115 graduation fee.)
  9. Click Pay Fee. Follow the steps on the screen to pay your $115 graduation/diploma fee. Choosing the incorrect payment semester will cause issues with your grad check application including in some cases cancellation; please confirm you are clicking the correct semester. How to Verify the Status of your Graduation Check:

  1. Log in on the Student Portal (www.fullerton.edu).
  2. Go to the “Student Homepage.”
  3. Click on the “Academic Records” tile.
  4. Select Graduation Status from the left menu.
  5. Approximately 24 hours after you have applied AND paid for your grad check, the Graduation Status will be changed from “Applied for Graduation” to "Candidate” instead.  This “Candidate” designation is required to process your degree award.

Graduation/Diploma Fee Payment

Changing Graduation Date

If you need to change your graduation date in the computer system to a different semester, then you can do so by submitting a Graduation Date Change FormOpens in new window . A $10 non-refundable fee will be charged to your student account by Student Business Services (SBS) every time you change your graduation date.

Commencement

Once you have applied online for a grad check and paid the $115 graduation fee to officially become a graduation candidate, you are eligible to participate commencement. If you are a graduation candidate for January 2022 (Fall 2021), May 2022 or August 2022, you will be eligible to participate in the May 2022 commencement. If you are a graduation candidate for January 2023 (Fall 2022), May 2023 or August 2023, you will be eligible to participate in the May 2023 commencement.
