Graduate Student Success Center (GSSC)
The Graduate Student Success Center at California State University, Fullerton was founded by the Office of Graduate Studies under the Strengthening Opportunities, Access and Resources (SOAR) grant. A Title V – promoting Post-baccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans (PPOHA) grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education.
Graduate Learning Specialists are devoted exclusively to coaching graduate students in graduate-level academic skills including studying, presenting, and tutoring in writing and in statistics. They also specialize in helping those that are on academic probation.Graduate Learning Specialists are available for free in the afternoons, evenings and weekends! Get coaching in the skills you need to succeed at the post-baccalaureate level
Prospective graduate students can receive assistance through the application process, and with transition into graduate study. Continuing students benefit from meeting with a Graduate Advisor by reviewing academic policies, learning about funding opportunities, and establishing plans to help overcome academic probation.
The Graduate Student Success Center (GSSC) and the Office of Graduate Studies wants to have food available throughout the day for graduate students. Created in Spring 2016, The Graduate Student Food Pantry was established to address the growing food insecurity problem among graduate students at CSUF. The food pantry is available to all graduate students through the Graduate Student Success Center (PLS 365) and offers students the use of a microwave, refrigerator, hot water pot, and coffee maker.
SOAR GRADUATE STUDENT SERVICES
SOAR supports graduate students’ academic achievement through academic advising, academic and personal support, professional development, mentorship, graduate student association, online learning community, and networking opportunities.
The Elevar Scholars Program is an initiative that attempts to improve the experience of historically under-served communities in graduate school.
