Goals and Strategies:

With support from the U.S. Department of Education, the Enhancing Postbaccalaureate Opportunities at Cal State Fullerton for Hispanic Students (EPOCHS) program serves to increase the number of Latino students who enroll in and complete a postbaccalaureate degree at CSUF. We hope to achieve this goal by strengthening the environment for graduate studies at CSUF, including the following services.

Services for Graduate Students:

Prospective Students
EPOCHS has introduced an annual New Graduate Student Welcome Day, an event all admitted prospective graduate students are invited to attend. It is an opportunity to check out the CSUF campus, as well as network with students and faculty from various departments to learn about campus life, funding opportunities, and housing.

Graduate Student Services
Orientation: In order to help new graduate students, EPOCHS hosts a Graduate Student Orientation, an event that provides information on funding, graduate student policies, research, and advice for both students and their families.

Student Support Specialist:Throughout the year, the student support specialist provides workshops on stress management and wellness, as well as one-on-one sessions. Please contact Catherine Ward for more information (cward@fullerton.edu).

Graduate Student Guide: EPOCHS has produced a graduate student guide that makes available important information to all students. Click here or pick up one up at the Office of Graduate Studies to learn more about campus policies, resources and opportunities.

Graduate Learning Specialists: If you are in need of writing assistance, make an appointment with our graduate learning specialists located in the University Learning Center. They can assist with graduate-level academic skills, studying, writing, and making presentations.

Student Academic Enrichment Opportunities
EPOCHS offers graduate assistantships each semester and places students in various departments across campus. When employment positions become available they will be posted on this website. Stay tuned!

The Graduate Student Research Fund compensates students for research travel and materials associated with CSUF graduate program research. Students are eligible to apply each semester. Award will range from $100 - 400. Please follow the funding link for more information.

EPOCHS also supports the quarterly bilingual graduate newsletter which describes campus opportunities, activities, services, how-to-articles, FAQ, and information of interest. Click here or stop by the Office of Graduate Studies to pick up your copy today!

Networking with Faculty
