Graduate Equity Fellowship: 

Funded by the CSU, this program offers monetary awards for economically disadvantaged students, especially from groups that are underrepresented among graduate degree recipients in their areas of study.

Students must submit a FAFSA and have a minimum $1,000 need as determined by the U.S. Department of Education.  Applications require a confidential letter of recommendation from a faculty member and a personal statement.  Priority will be given to students involved in research or creative and scholarly activities with faculty members.  The application is available during the spring semester on the Graduate Studies website: http://www.fullerton.edu/graduate/forms.htm.

CSU Pre-Doctoral Fellowship: 

This CSU award is a competitive system-wide program for students who are interested in continuing their studies at the doctoral level and eventually desire to be faculty members. The program provides travel funds to visit doctorate-granting institutions, options for summer research internships, and funds for other related activities.

Non-Resident Tuition Fee Waivers (Executive Order 605): 

A limited number of non-resident tuition fee waivers are available to recruit exceptional incoming international and non-resident students.

Currently capped at 90.  [Not to exceed:  for undergrads (7.5% of undergraduate international student body); for graduates (25% of graduate non-resident & international students)]

College Deans submit a short memorandum to the AVP, Graduate Programs & Research, nominating a student for a waiver.  The nomination must contain the student's name, CWID, address, a summary of the nominee's qualifications, and an explanation why attracting the nominee would be beneficial to the individual, the program, and the University.  Each college receives an allocated number of waivers for the academic year.  Interested students should contact their department’s graduate program adviser or department chair.

    
Fleckles Fund Travel Award: 

Funded by the Giles T. Brown Foundation, the Fleckles Fund seeks to support graduate education at CSUF by providing travel funds to graduate students presenting research at professional seminars.  Awards are made from $100 to $500 for travel within the United States, and up to $800 for international travel.

Giles T. Brown Outstanding Thesis Award: 

Honors a graduate student for their outstanding thesis.

This award is by faculty nomination only.  Nomination letters are submitted by at least one faculty member in the student’s department as well as the department chair.  Only one nomination package per college is submitted to the Graduate Studies Office.  The nomination package must contain: a copy of the thesis (unbound, with signed signature page); a biographical statement from the student; department endorsed nomination memos; and an endorsed nomination memo from the dean that stresses the contribution and distinctive characteristics of the nominated thesis.  Informational flyers are available on the Graduate Studies website:  http:www.fullerton.edu/graduate/forms.htm
