VoLUnter International peer - Orientation leader
Responsibilities
Under the supervision and guidance of the International Student
Advisor, assist with the following responsibilities:
- Serve
in the role of Peer Advisor to international students
by:
- Meeting and welcoming newly admitted international
students and providing one-on-one assistance
- Guiding
new students through Titan Online system
and Student Portal.Assisting the IEE Office in completing
new students' files (e.g. making copies of passport
and other immigration documents, etc.)
- Assisting the IEE Office in completing new students' files

- Serve as Table Moderator or Small Group Facilitator
during the International Student Orientation Program.
- Participate in IEE programs that promote increased interaction
among international and US domestic students. Activities
include but are not limited to the following:
- Weekly "International Coffee Break"
- Concert Under the Stars (Fall event: September)
- International Education Week (Fall event: November)
- Poetry Across Cultures (Spring event)
- International Women's Day Celebration (Spring
event)
Hours of Work:
Fall VIP Orientation Leader:
This volunteer position is expected
to begin mid-July with VIP training and continue
during the fall semester with an expected completion
of 20 hours of service (minimum). VIP must be available
during the Fall International Student Orientation
seminars.
Spring VIP Orientation Leader:
This volunteer position is expected
to begin January 5 with VIP training and continue during the spring
semester with an expected completion of 20 hours of service (minimum).
VIP must be available during the Spring International Student Orientation
seminar.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be currently enrolled at CSUF
- Must be in good academic standing
- International studies experience desirable
