International Student Orientation Program Overview

Welcome and congratulations on your acceptance to the California State University, Fullerton. We are thrilled that you will be joining our Titan family!

All newly admitted international students and exchange students are required to attend the International Student Orientation Program. As a new student at CSUF, you are bound to have questions. Throughout the program, we will provide information about immigration regulations, campus policies and procedures, and resources to help succeed in your academic program. You will have the opportunity to meet other CSUF students, staff, faculty and International Programs - International Student Services staff and community volunteers. By the time you complete the orientation program, you'll be on your way to becoming a successful CSUF student.

Depending on your student status at CSUF (freshmen, upper-division transfer student, exchange student for one or two terms, or graduate student) there are different components of the International Student Orientation Program. There are different segments of the International Student Orientation Program. Some of them are mandatory and some of them are strongly recommended.

As an International student, you are required to attend the mandatory International Student Orientation Program which begins in August, 2014. All of the segments are designed to give you information about Cal State Fullerton and prepare you to become a successful Titan!

Freshman Students Orientation On Campus Orientation for all Freshman Students
Undergrad Transfers (Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors) On Campus Orientation for all Undergrad Transfer Students
Graduate Students On Campus Orientation for all Graduate Students
Exchange Students On Campus Orientation for all Exchange Students



International Freshman (FTF) Students Orientation

  • Check-In for all the International Freshman students will begin during the week of August 11 and continue until August 13
  • International Orientation Program begins on Monday, August 11 and runs through Monday, August 18.
Mandatory Components Optional Components (recommended)
  • Writing Preparation Seminars: Monday, August 11 - Wednesday, August 13
  • International Student Seminars: Monday, August 11 - Wednesday, August 13
  • NSO (New Student Orientation) on Monday, August 18
  • Social Activities planned by International Student Association(ISA) and other Student Clubs: Tueday, August 19 to Thursday, August 21


Upper Division Transfer Students(Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors) Orientation

  • Check-In for all the Upper Division Transfer students will begin during the week of August 4 and continue until August 21
  • International Orientation Program is on Tuesday, August 19.
Mandatory Components Optional Components (recommended)
  • TSO (Transfer Student Orientation) on Tuesday, August 19
    [If you have not completed the Online TSO or attened an earlier in-person TSO]
  • International Student Seminar on Tuesday, August 19
    [required of ALL international transfer students; different from TSO]
  • Social Activities planned by International Student Association(ISA) and other Student Clubs: Wednesday, August 20 to Thursday, August 21


Graduate Students Orientation

  • Check-In for all the International Graduate students will begin during the week of August 4 and continue until August 21
  • International Orientation Program is on Wednesday, August 20.
  • Additionally depending on your Graduate Program, you may also be required to attend a College Orientation or Department Orientation

  • International Student Seminar: Wednesday, August 20
  • Social Activities planned by International Student Association(ISA) and other Student Clubs: Wednesday, August 20 to Thursday, August 21


Exchange Students Orientation

  • Check-In for all the Exchange students will begin during the week of August 4 and continue until August 21
  • International Orientation Program is on Wednesday, August 20
Mandatory Components Optional Components (recommended)
  • International Student Seminar: Wednesday, August 20
  • Social Activities planned by International Student Association(ISA) and other Student Clubs: Wednesday, August 20 to Thursday, August 21

Note: The International Orientation Seminars are mandatory. All newly admitted international and exchange students are required to attend.

Parking Information

If you are driving, you will need a parking permit for this day in order to park on campus. Parking permits can be purchased from any permit machine on campus located in Lots A, G, S, Arts drive, and levels 2, 4, 6 in the State College Structure. The cost of a day parking permit is $8.00.
