about joining a prestigious international Honor Society?
Phi Beta Delta
is the first honor society dedicated to recognizing scholarly
achievement in international education, by giving scholarships to
deserving students and enhancing knowledge about various cultures
around the world. This honor society was founded in founded in 1986,
and the Beta Chapter at CSUF was the second chapter and is one of
the most active and awarded chapters of the 150 chapters in the
United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
What

What are the requirements to belong
to Phi Beta Delta?
If you are a
student: You are qualified for membership if you have a
cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better and have completed
at least one semester as a junior, senior or graduate student at Cal
State Fullerton. In addition, you must demonstrate international
competency through: a) completion of 6 units or more of
international or intercultural coursework, or b) experience in
studying, researching, living, or working abroad or involvement in
other international endeavors.
If you are a
faculty member: You may qualify by teaching courses in
international or intercultural studies. Personal involvement in
international or intercultural affairs will be also considered.
If you are a
staff member: You may qualify by a combination of the
above criteria.
If you meet
these requirements, the Beta Chapter would be very pleased to have
you become a member. If you have already been inducted, thank you
for renewing your membership!
What types of events is Phi Beta
Delta organizing and how to join?
Each year, the Beta Chapter at CSUF holds several events on campus,
such as: panel discussions, lectures by distinguished speakers,
celebrations for International Education Week, forums on global
topics, etc…. We also publish a semi-annual electronic newsletter
and send periodic flyers to keep members informed of these
activities. If you join Phi Beta Delta, you will be invited to our
Induction Ceremony where you will be honored and recognized with a
beautiful bronze medallion and a Certificate of Membership.
Family and friends are encouraged to attend to be a part this
special moment. Please refer to the Calendar of Events for
details.
