Resulting from changes in Internet technologies and mobile computing, global citizens are increasingly able to access new tools for teaching, learning and creating. These tools can be leveraged toward the empowerment of women and girls and in particular rural women. Access to mobile networks is now available to 90% of the world population and 80% of the population living in rural areas. It is up to us to utilize the technology for social good such as advancing literacy, health and reproductive education, financial literacy, gender awareness and fund raising for indigenous women and women in the global south.
