Eve Himmelheber
Associate Professor of Theatre, and Coordinator – BFA Musical Theatre"I am a faculty member in the College of the Arts, but I am also very connected to the Theatre Department because I received my MFA here. It makes me feel good to give back and support scholarships to help other students achieve their dreams. I have seen our students achieve success on Broadway, with national and international tours, at theme parks and on cruise lines – getting really great placement. They do so well because of the foundation they receive here at Cal State Fullerton, and I feel good knowing I was a part of making that happen. "Every little bit helps," as they say."

Naomi Goodwin
Assistant Vice President for Administration and Finance"Knowing that the State of California is unable to fully fund the educational experience made giving back seem like the natural thing for me to do. If everyone in our campus community could see firsthand how donations are used, they would understand the powerful impact they can have on the life of a student. I choose to support the Hagan-Hicks Scholarship because it provides assistance to students to help them complete their education and the Faculty and Staff Development Endowment because I
feel investing in our talented faculty and staff is important. My monthly gifts through the payroll deduct plan add up to an investment in something that is very meaningful – our Titan students. " -
Jessica Schutte
Acting Director, Office of Financial Aid"I feel it is very important to give of your time, talent, or treasures. I choose to give back
to Cal State Fullerton because I know that without assistance a college education would
not be possible for many students who attend the university. Scholarships supported by personal contributions can make all the difference to a student in need or to a student who is experiencing crisis in his/her life. We are fortunate enough to work on a beautiful campus with students who are hopeful about their future, so giving back is my small way of showing my appreciation for having benefitted as a community member at Cal State Fullerton." -
Gale Kirkland
Athletics Academic Counselor"Over the years I have been able to enjoy individual contact with students, and have seen the power of education and the positive impact it can have. Supporting Cal State Fullerton is my way of giving back because I believe in this university and what it provides our community. I choose to contribute to Athletics because I know the students personally, and I am able to witness the power of education and the result on both their growth and confidence."

Chris Manriquez
Associate Vice President for Information Technology"I am a donor through the It's Our University campaign because I appreciate being able to earmark my gifts to the areas that are meaningful to me. I choose to designate my tax deductible gifts to Information Technology because it helps me get my job done. I know my contributions go toward university-wide projects, and helping to further these efforts is important to me. And as an alumnus of the University's Geography department I have also been able to earmark contributions to support their student activities. I feel that our faculty and staff members at Cal State Fullerton are provided an excellent opportunity through this campaign to strengthen their connection with the University by being part of the mission of key areas they identify with."

Sandra Sutphen
Professor of Political Science, Emerita"I give back to Cal State Fullerton because being a member of the campus community enabled me to grow in many ways. I always appreciated having the opportunity to explore avenues to continue my own personal growth. Over the years I contributed to a variety of programs including the Political Science department, Women's Studies and several athletics programs including Softball and Baseball. I feel that even giving a small gift allows faculty and staff members to take ownership of the university and really play an active role in its success."
-
Bob Belloli
Professor of Chemistry, Emeritus"I spent 36 years on campus as a faculty member, and I support the mission of the university. I believe in what we are doing at CSUF, and I feel that the faculty and staff do a great job of nurturing our students. Providing personal support is just another way we can help to enhance the student experience. One of the areas I have chosen to support is Titan Fund, because I want to help students get the quality of the education they deserve – and our gifts help pick up where state funding leaves off."
-
Lea Jarnagin
Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs"In my 15 years in Student Affairs I have had the opportunity to interact with so many amazing students. While serving as the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in the College of the Arts I was so impressed by the talent of our students. I am also very passionate about women’s and girl's issues. For these reasons I have chosen to support student scholarship funding in Student Affairs, the Project MISS Program and the College of the Arts. I give back because I believe in the mission of CSUF and I feel a positive sense of connection to this campus. I truly believe that access and opportunity should be given to all students. My commitment of personal support through It’s Our University is my way of doing everything I can to help our students achieve their goal of an education."
-
Andrea Kelligrew
Production and Client Services Coordinator"My It's Our University campaign donation goes to support the Guardian Scholars program. As an alumna I am proud of the university's dedication to providing an education to underrepresented students. This program is one of many that offers students the opportunity to reach their full potential and attend college in pursuit of their degree and a career that will make an impact on society. My support matters because I am not only concerned with our current students, but also want to ensure the same opportunities for future Titans. Supporting Cal State Fullerton allows me not only to impact the campus community but the success of the next generation."

Steve DiTolla
Senior Associate Athletics Director/Marketing"As with everything in life, you get out of something what you put into it. I feel that what comes back to you is in direct proportion with what you give, which is why I choose to be a donor to the university. Passion plays a role in terms of involvement, and time and money are two of our most valuable resources. Since not all funding comes from the state, the university desperately needs external support in order to continue growth and success."
-
Janette Hyder
EOP Counselor / Coordinator for Links Mentoring Program
Student Academic Services"I am a donor to the Chicano Latino Faculty Staff Association Scholarship Fund. As a graduate student I was fortunate enough to be selected as a recipient of this scholarship, and it meant so much to me to have that assistance with tuition and books. I choose to support the fund in order to give students the same opportunity I had to achieve my goal of a college degree."
-
Dr. Craig Ihara
Professor – Philosophy"Cal State Fullerton has been my community for so many years, and that makes giving back truly rewarding. I have been in the Philosophy Department for 37 years and I helped found Asian American Studies. I am a donor to these two programs because when you care about something, you should support it. It’s the best way to keep connected and involved."
-
Karen McKinley
Director of Summer Session, Intersession & Special Session Programs
University Extended Education"I support Extended Education on campus because it’s where I work, and I believe in what we do. Traditional financial aid is not available for continued education in the workforce, so even small gifts make a big impact. It makes me feel good to be a donor helping students, and I truly feel like I am giving back to Cal State Fullerton and the student community."
-
John Reid
Coordinator, Student Diversity Program"I participate with the It's Our University campaign because it's a convenient way to support a program I care about. As a member of the African-American Faculty and Staff Association, this campaign makes it easy to be a donor while being involved with a group that promotes cultural enlightenment and strength within the community."
-
Brad Starr
Professor, Departments of Comparative Religion and Liberal Studies"Several years ago I realized that there are many deserving programs right here on campus, and one I selected to support is the Guardian Scholars. The It's Our University program provides a way for me to help students who are part of this program, many of whom face severe obstacles on the road toward academic success. I think that selecting and supporting worthy causes is the right thing to do. One benefit of giving back to CSUF is that every year at Commencement I can quietly witness the tangible results of my contributions. "
-
Dr. Ruth Yopp-Edwards
Professor, Elementary and Bilingual Education"I was initially motivated to give to Cal State Fullerton by Dr. Bernard Kravitz. He spoke to fellow faculty members about the It's Our University program and commented that if every faculty member gave as little as 1% of one month's salary to the campus, collectively we would make a powerful impact. I support the Center for Successful Aging because of the tremendous level of service it provides to the community surrounding our campus. I feel good about the program and I believe in what we do here on campus. Giving makes me feel even more connected to the campus, our students, and our community."
-
Dr. Hallie Yopp Slowik
Professor, Elementary and Biligual Education"I have been a donor to the It’s Our University campaign since it began. I feel fortunate to be a part of a dynamic community that offers a wide range of programs addressing diverse needs. Every day I have the extraordinary opportunity to interact with exceptional, dedicated colleagues and bright, enthusiastic students. It is gratifying to contribute to efforts that so positively touch the lives of many."
-
James D. Young
Emeriti, Founding Chair, Department of Theatre & Dance"I was a part of the team that created the It’s Our University campaign. We traveled across campus and met with the deans, faculty and staff to ask them to support programs that we knew so desperately needed it. It began to catch on because the campus community really understood that when you give something back, you gain ownership in the process. You are part of a larger effort and the progress made and success reached is yours because you were a part of it. Over the years I have supported the Arboretum, the Pollak Library, President’s Scholars, Guardian Scholars and more."
