Office of the Associate Vice President

January 2018

Welcome to the Irvine Campus of Cal State Fullerton for Spring Semester 2018.  We hope you had an enjoyable break and are ready for a stimulating and challenging semester.

As always, our goal is to provide the best of a Cal State Fullerton education, including the information and support students need to be successful, in a setting that is small in scale, close to home and work, and conducive to personal attention.  Our presence in Irvine reflects the commitment of Cal State Fullerton to improving quality and access by working with its community college partners in the South County region, being responsive to evolving workforce needs, and serving as a center of innovation in our teaching, research and community partnerships.

Change is ongoing at the Irvine Campus and a number of those changes will be evident in the coming weeks.   The Fall 2016 cohort of students in our GAP4+1 Program in Accounting, who have been completing course work at Irvine Valley College, will begin their first semester of course work at the Irvine Campus this spring.   We continue to expand the array of certificate and other programs offered through University Extended Education here at Irvine.  The Center for Entrepreneurship held its grand opening in Banting 1 building in November and there is more in store as we continue create new and supportive relationships with South County businesses and community organizations.  Among these, we are very pleased at the continued growth and success of the Titan After School Education and Safety program with the Tustin Unified School District.  Each of these developments will result in expanded internship and employment opportunities for our excellent students and graduates.

Last year, our campus hosted for well over 100 meetings, retreats and other gatherings for a variety of local, regional and national groups.  Our presence near the Irvine Spectrum Center, and a number of world class businesses and organizations, make our 3 Banting location ideal.  Please keep us in mind if you are in search of a great meeting place.

Once again, welcome and thank you for making the Cal State Fullerton Irvine Campus a success.

 Sincerely,

    Stephan R. Walk, PhD.
