Irvine Campus Library
Welcome to the
Library at Irvine Campus. The Library at Irvine Campus is an
extension of the Pollak Library at the CSUF main campus,
offering resources and services to students, faculty and
staff at Irvine Campus. The library website is the launch pad
for resources such as the catalog, databases, electronic
journals, research guides, interlibrary loan and course
reserves. These electronic resources are available to
all CSUF students with a simple login through the
university portal allowing students to conduct research
from home or office.

Where are course reserves at Irvine Campus? (top)
Instructors may put class material (journal articles, book chapters,
CD’s, etc.) on reserve in the library where you can
check it out for a predetermined period of time. That
way everyone has shared access to the material. The
instructor may also put the material on “E-Reserve.”
That way everyone in the class can access the material
online from any computer. To find material on reserve
for your course, select
Reserves Lookup
from the
library website.
What’s on the library website? (top)
The Library at Irvine Campus’ website is very shallow – just giving
you the specifics on hours of operation and these FAQ’s.
So you will want to utilize the Pollak Library’s website
for all of your research needs.
That address is:
http://www.library.fullerton.edu
Through the Pollak Library website, you can:
-
Search for journal, magazine, and newspaper articles for any of your
course subjects
- Obtain many articles full-text online
- Use databases such as Expanded Academic, PsycInfo,
Sociological Abstracts, Lexis-Nexis, Education Abstracts
- Newsstand
- Find company & industry data and business news
- Look up statistics and government info
- Identify books for your research
- Use thousands of electronic books through Net Library
- Get research assistance by phone, email or online chat
(24/7)
- Schedule a research consultation with a librarian
- Use LINK+ to order books from other libraries
- Order items that we don’t own through interlibrary
loan
- Check your own library record and renew books online
Can I use all of the library resources on the website from home? (top)
ABSOLUTELY! Connecting to the library’s resources from home has
never been easier. As you try to enter any of our
subscription resources you will be prompted to log into
your student portal. Typically the username will be your
university CWID and the password will be your pin
number. If you experience any technical problems logging
in from home, call the titan Help Desk at (714) 278-7777.
Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)
http://lib-ill.fullerton.edu/illiad/
If you need a book or article that the library does not
own either in print or electronically, use this free
service! Register through the library website, create
your own profile and then place your order online. We
will retrieve the item through national borrowing
channels. Articles will be delivered electronically to
your ILLiad account and books will be kept at the
Circulation Desk at the Pollak Library for you to pick
up. Graduate and undergraduate students may request up
to 100 items per academic year through ILLiad.
Irvine Campus - Only Students – Paging Service
Students taking classes solely at Irvine Campus may
request up to 50 books or articles owned at the Pollak
Library on the main campus. We will deliver those to El
Toro within 3-4 business days where you may pick them
up. Paged requests do not count toward ILLiad limits.
Ask at the Reference Desk for more info and assistance.
What are the policies and limits for library material? (top)
Book Check-out
Graduate and undergraduate students:
- Number of check-outs: 100 books at one time
- Check-out Time Period: 60 day loan period

of a book. After 10 days, the library may hold or recall
a book from you so that another patron may use it or so
that it may be placed on course reserve.
Can I use the computers in the Library to work on term papers,
resumes, etc? (top)
No. The workstations in the Library are used for library research.
However the Computer Lab (Room 145) has the full MS
Office Suite with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. There
are both PC's and Macs. The lab is open for your use
between 8:30 am and 9:00 pm from Monday through Thursday
and from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Fridays.
What library services are you unable to provide at Irvine Campus? (top)
We do not have a large reference collection. If you need specific
reference books (such as directories, almanacs,
encyclopedias, etc.), not available at Irvine Campus
you will need to go to the main campus or at one of the
local public libraries. A list of local libraries and
their hours is available from the Librarian.
Where can I study when the Library is closed? (top)
The Student Lounge in Room 100 is open from 8:30 am to 10:00 pm
Mondays through Thursdays where they have comfortable
chairs and tables.
