Office of the Dean
Welcome to Cal State Fullerton’s Irvine Campus. This spring semester promises to be a busy and productive one for our students, faculty and staff. Soon we will honor our Shea Homes Irvine Campus Scholarship winner for Fall 2013 – Eric DeJesus. Eric is a senior majoring in Accounting. A luncheon to honor him will be held on February 21 with Mr. Robert Yoder, Vice President of Shea Homes, the scholarship committee and Eric’s Accounting Chair, Associate Dean and the Dean.
Our Dean’s List reception to honor our fall 2013 students who attained a 3.5 grade point average with 12 units of coursework or more will be held on February 27. We look forward to this wonderful event as we celebrate the accomplishments of our students with their families and friends.
We look forward to the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators (NABCA) conference to be held April 9-12 at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach and on our campus. This organization was originally a Western Association co-founded by the original Director of our campus, Dr. George Giacumakis. We are honored to be the site host this year where President García will be addressing the first reception, and several keynote, institute and concurrent sessions will be held. Attendees will travel to our campus for a tour as well as concurrent sessions and lunch on Friday April 11. This campus tour will be followed by a plenary activity at Angels Stadium!
As we move forward with the planning for the 1 Banting Building, we welcome Dr. Peter Wilson and Ms. Linda C. Rodgers of Rodgers Associates. They will be working with us as consultants to review the proposals submitted for new programs for the campus, as well as making recommendations for a financial infrastructure to support the growth of the campus in the future. They will work during the spring semester to interview internal and external stakeholders in order to make recommendations to President García and her cabinet. We look forward to working with Rodgers Associates in order to move the growth and progress of the Irvine Campus forward for our students and our community!
