How to Report a Crime

If you observe a crime in progress, or if someone needs help urgently, call x2515 (CSUF Police Dispatch) immediately from your campus phone. Pre-program your cell phone with the CSUF University Police main number: (657) 278-2515 in case you need to call for help. To contact the CSUF Irvine Campus PD from your cell call (657) 278-1626.

Tips:
Be prepared to give the dispatcher information regarding your name, location, type of injuries, type of vehicles, description of subjects and what specifically you are reporting. If you find someone is suspicious tell the dispatcher what is suspicious (i.e., the person did not look like a student, demanded money from you, smelled of alcohol, had a pungent smell, had disheveled clothing, looked homeless or were following too closely to you). For more tips go to Personal Security Tips.

If you do have an incident to report, be sure to avoid handling any items prior to police arrival, so that evidence it not destroyed.

If you have been involved in a vehicle accident and it is safe to do so, move your car to a secure location when it is safe to do so and contact University Police immediately.

The Irvine Campus Cleary Crime statistics are taken from the CSUF University Police.
For Lost and Found items check them into the CSUF Irvine Campus Police Department.
If you feel unsafe walking to the parking lot, you may request an escort by our security officers.

If you need to talk to a counselor to decide whether it is appropriate to make a referral regarding a student of concern (or a student at risk) please call the Counseling and Psychological Services Center (CAPS) at (657) 278-3040. Counselors are available from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. If you need help after hours contact University Police.

Parking

You are required to have a valid CSUF parking permit while parked at CSUF Irvine Campus parking lots. Saddleback and Irvine Valley College permits are also valid. Vehicles parked in neighboring business will be cited or towed. A daily permit is $8.00. Permits can be purchased from a machine at the entrance to the campus. Motorcycle decals are $50.00. Motorcycle parking is located in Row 3, on the northeast side of the campus facing Barranca. No decals are needed for bicycles. Bike racks are located to the rear of the building. You can view or download a map of the Irvine Campus parking structure (PDF 94kb, new window) here.

TIPS:
To contest or pay for a parking ticket on-line, go to http://www.parking.fullerton.edu.

If you wish to complete a parking ticket review form at the CSUF Parking and Transportation Office go to building T-1400P, located off State College at the main campus.

Failure to respond to parking tickets may result in additional fines and the DMV may be notified to place a hold on the vehicle's registration. Multiple parking tickets can result in the immobilization or towing and impounding of the vehicle at the owner's expense.
