Legacies
IRVC is uniquely meshed with the surrounding South Orange County community and has an opportunity to create a new legacy for CSUF; a legacy in which not only academic learning is preeminent but that of social and civil learning for the community as well.
Legacies is not just a program, it is an experience. An experience which invites all academic disciplines and community interests; an experience which lasts an academic year; and an experience which has the goal of bringing civility, equity, integrity and respect into individual and community lives. The Legacies program is modeled after the acclaimed PBS Special, “Racial Legacies & Learning” from the University of Miami of Ohio .
The CSUF Irvine Campus Legacies Program seeks to go beyond the race dialog by expanding to topics of social injustices and inhumanity.
