Latest Information About Updating to iOS 7
The Division of Information Technology determined that the biggest issue with iOS 7 was a security vulnerability with regard to the Control Center feature. Last week Apple released an update (iOS 7.0.2) to address this and the remaining issues are related to performance and aesthetics. If your device is already running iOS 7, please be sure to update it to the latest (7.0.2).
Please be aware that you may experience some performance issues on the following devices:
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 4S
- iPad 2

iOS 7 Update Advice and Requirements
Information Technology has tested iOS 7 extensively and has determined that at this time, there is no compelling reason for you to update your device. We will continue to test since there is a good chance we have not found all issues. Apple will address reported and future issues with updates on their own time table. We plan to send another update a week from today. Below is a list of a couple of the most common changes and issues we have found.
- The look and feel is updated, added some features such as Control Center, Air Drop, finger print scanner (for iPhone 5S). For a full list of features, please visit the Apple website
- Some reports of bad battery performance
- You need 2GB of free storage on your device to update
- Security concern with Control Center and access to apps. You can disable control center access on the lock screen.
