Evacuation Drill April 10, 2013 at 2:40pm

The IT Helpdesk at extension 7777 will resume answering calls upon returning from the campus evacuation drill.

Summer 2013 TITANium Courses

Apple Release of iOS 6.1.3 - UPDATE

After extensive testing and evaluating this update, the Division of Information Technology feels it is safe to update your iPhone and iPad. As with any software update, please take appropriate steps to ensure you have backed up your devices prior to updating them.

Apple Release of iOS 6.1.3

Apple has just announced an update to the software that runs on your iPhone and iPad.  The Divison of Information Technology has not yet tested this update.  We are asking that you NOT update your iPhone or iPad until we have fully tested it.  We will provide an update within 48 hours.

Online IT Help for Students

The Division of Information Technology has launched a new online service through the Student Portal beginning on Monday, 3/18/2013.  In addition to Information Technology’s Live Chat service, students will now also be able to open up problem tickets directly with the IT Helpdesk for their campus related technical questions.  The service is available 24/7. Please be aware that during normal business hours there will be more resources available to better assist students’ inquiries.  To access this service, students login to their Portal, http://my.fullerton.edu and click on the Online IT Help tab.  Students will then be asked to login with their campus username and password in order to initiate a chat or create a problem ticket.

Apple Release of iOS 6.1.2 - UPDATE

The Division of Information Technology has completed testing of iOS 6.1.2, and there appears to be no difficulties with this update.  At this time we feel that it is safe to upgrade your mobile devices.  As always, proceed with caution as data and apps experience vulnerabilities during the upgrade process.  It is recommended that you backup your mobile devices to iTunes on your workstation before beginning the upgrade.

Apple Release of iOS 6.1.2

Apple has just announced the release of iOS 6.1.2.  The Divison of Information Technology has not yet tested the new version of iOS.  We are asking  that you NOT update your iOS on any Apple device until we have fully tested the new operating system.  We will provide an update within 48 hours.

International Phone Charges

The Telecommunications department has recently noticed that AT&T is charging international calls to mobile devices at a rate much higher than international landline rates.  Please refrain from making international calls to mobile lines to avoid these high charges.

iOS6.1 Exchange ActiveSync Issue

February 12, 2013 - 4:20 p.m.

Two weeks ago, Apple released an update (iOS6.1) for the iPhone and iPad.  There have been reports of excessive battery drain, over-heating and most notably, a performance impact on the MS Exchange server when using ActiveSync from an iPhone or iPad.  This performance impact on the MS Exchange server affects all users.  Apple has since released an update only for iPhone 4s (iOS6.1.1), but an update for all other devices has NOT yet been resolved.  The Division of Information Technology is asking all iOS device (iPhone and iPad) users NOT to update to iOS6.1.  However, if you have an iPhone 4s, please be sure to update to iOS 6.1.1.
