Getting a TitanCard

Getting a TitanCard is easy and only takes minutes. Drop by the TitanCard office, fill out an application and present a picture I.D. Acceptable forms of identification are: driver's license, passport, or state identification card. Additionally, we will also be using hand geometry readers to assign you an algorithm in our database, based on over 90 measurements of your hand. This algorithm is necessary for access into Rec Center labs.

Your TitanCard Photo

It is TitanCard’s responsibility to determine if photos fall within the following guidelines:

  • Sunglasses or other wear which detracts from the face are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (an eye patch, for example).
  • Head coverings and hats are acceptable only due to acknowledged religious beliefs, traditions or customs, and even then, may not cover any portion of the applicant's face. If TitanCard staff is unable to verify religious viability a subject may submit a written request to management. Written requests are to be submitted at the TitanCard office and must include subject’s name, CWID, and address. Subject will be notified by mail of management’s decision.
  • Photographs of applicants wearing tribal, national costume, or other headgear not specifically religious in nature are not acceptable.
  • The subject's expression should be natural, with both eyes open.
  • Traditional facemasks or veils that do not permit adequate identification are not acceptable.
  • Side or angled views are NOT accepted.
  • Re-takes at a subject’s request will be subject to the $10 replacement fee.

Hand Readers

RSI’s hand geometry technology uses the unique size and the shape of the hand to verify a person’s identity with unparalleled accuracy.  No fingerprints or palm prints are used!!  The Handkey captures a three dimensional image of the hand using a 32,000 pixel image array.  More than 90 measurements including the lengths, widths, thickness and surface area of the fingers and hand are taken.  An advanced algorithm determines the unique aspect of the hand and then generates a nine-byte hand template. That will be used to give you access to the Rec Center. Follow this link for more information about hand geometry.
