About ATI
The Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) reflects the CSU’s ongoing commitment to provide access to information resources and technologies to individuals with disabilities. This commitment is articulated in Executive Order 1111 (EO 1111), the CSU Board of Trustees Policy on Disability Support and Accommodations:
The Accessible Technology Initiative's
- Vision: To create a culture of access for an inclusive learning and working environment.
- Mission: To help CSU campuses in carrying out EO 1111 by developing guidelines, implementation strategies, tools and resources.
- Principle: To apply universal design, an approach to the design of products and services to be usable by the greatest number of people including individuals with disabilities.
- Strategy: To stimulate collaboration to affect changes that will ultimately benefit all.
About Accessible Procurement
Executive Order 1111
mandates CSU campuses to make its programs, services, and activities accessible to individuals with disabilities. This includes students, faculty, staff, and the general public who visit or attend a campus sponsored event. Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 requires the University, including self-support and auxiliaries, to apply accessibility standards to all Electronic and Information Technology (E&IT) products and services that it buys, creates, uses and maintains regardless of cost or funding source.
Cal State Fullerton is committed to using the most accessible technology products and services on our campus. Accessible Procurement applies to all campus technology purchases, including self-support and auxiliaries, irrespective of funding source. Types of products requiring accessibility analysis include, but are not limited to, servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, transaction machines, information kiosks, printers, miscellaneous electronic office equipment, multimedia, software, cloud services, and service contracts.
