About the Literacy Festival

 literacy festival

The Cal State Fullerton Community Literacy Festival celebrates the magic of storytelling and children's books, while raising awareness of the lifelong power of literacy. It gives children and their families the opportunity to meet authors and illustrators who create books just for them. Our goals are to promote reading to, with, and by children; to forge connections between the university and the greater Orange County community; and to help children expand their worlds through fiction and non-fiction reading.

People of all ages and those from diverse cultures come from throughout Orange County including children, teens, parents and grandparents, teachers and librarians, community members across careers and professions, and Cal State Fullerton pre-service and inservice students in fields including child and adolescent studies, and CSUF alumni from a cross section of professions. Admission, parking, refreshments and children's books are free.

Here are some additional resources about the groups that assisted in organizing the festival.
