Transer Student Advising

Major advising will begin on June 15, 2022

Advising is an important aspect of your success as a student in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Students who have committed to CSUF can schedule an individual advising session between June 15 and July 1. All meetings will be done virtually via Zoom and cover some general information as well as evaluation of your transcripts to come up with an academic plan for the spring semester. To set up a Zoom meeting, use this link on your computer or smartphone:

https://calendly.com/pdelijser/advising

When you are on the website, you see my calendar and availability.  Pick a day and then select one of the available timeslots. Confirm the selection and then enter your name and email on the next page. You can put notes or a question if you want (optional) and then click on Schedule Event. You will get an email with a calendar invitation including a Zoom link for the meeting. Make sure you add the day and time of your appointment to your calendar.

IMPORTANT: Prior to your advising appointment, please send copies of your latest transcripts (unofficial) to Dr. de Lijser via email (pdelijser@fullerton.edu).

Registration for Fall 2022 courses will begin on June 9, 2022.

You will be able to register for your Fall 2022 courses starting June 9, 2022. It is strongly recommended that you set up an advising meeting prior to your registration so that we can make sure you enroll in the correct courses. With this information you can build your Fall 2022 schedule and register when registration opens. Contact the student success team via email (nsmsuccessteam@fullerton.edu) to help you if you encounter any issues.

Chemistry Placement Exam (CPE)
Students who plan to enroll in CHEM 120A (General Chemistry I) must meet one of the three following criteria: (i) must have earned a passing score on the Chemistry Placement Exam (CPE); (ii) must have earned a passing grade in an appropriate Preparatory Chemistry course (a College-level course equivalent to CHEM 115 at CSUF); (iii) or must have earned a score of 3 on the Chemistry AP exam. If you do not meet any of these criteria, we strongly urge you to take the CPE as soon as possible so that are ready to enroll in the correct Chemistry course when your registration window opens. For more information on the CPE, including dates the exam is offered, please see this link: http://www.fullerton.edu/chemistry/students/chemistry_placement_exam.php
