Chemistry and Biochemistry Department Highlights

spooky Science

Several members of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Club visited Fern Drive Elementary School in Fullerton on Friday, October 26th, to give lunchtime demonstrations called "Spooky Science".  The club performed hands-on demonstrations with kids from 1st through 6th grade, increasing the complexity of the demos and the science with the older kids.  Approximately 100 kids from Fern Drive were in attendance and learned about density of liquids, bubble formation, and sublimation, using a "cauldron" of different liquid mixtures.
