UNIV 100: Brotherhood

Research shows students from underrepresented populations persist and achieve more readily when their environments integate innovative, practical, asset-oriented engagement strategies.

  • Our current data show:

    32 percent
    of our incoming first-year students identify as men; and

  • Less than

    16 percent
    of men undeclared at entry graduate in four years

Considering this data, this cohort is designed to support first-year undeclared students who self-identify as men toward increased:

Students enrolled in this UNIV 100 section will gain access to tailored programming and services that empower brothers with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully transition into university culture through the lens of a shared brotherhood.

This course is open to all CSUF undeclared first-year students who are interested in developing their awareness of, and the need to support, underrepresented student groups.
