First Time Freshmen Orientation and Registration Information
Note: Orientation registration for Fall 2018 First-Time Freshmen will open in spring 2018.
All First Time Freshmen are required to attend New Student Orientation (NSO)
New Student Orientation (NSO) is a full-day program where you can meet fellow new students, connect with current CSUF students, faculty, and staff, receive mandatory academic advising, and register for your Fall classes. NSO sessions last from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and you are required to attend the entirety of the program.
Orientation occurs during the months of June and July. Specific orientation dates are assigned to students depending on their major or participation in special programs. We highly encourage students to register for a mandatory orientation session before scheduling any summer commitments, trips or vacation.
Cost of Attendance:
The cost of attending an NSO is $85 for students, which covers your meals and materials for the day. NSO also includes a concurrent Parent and Family Orientation program at an additional fee.
Fee Deferrals: Based on ancitipated financial aid, some students may be eligible for a fee deferral at the time of registration. This means that collection of the student's orientation fee will be postponed until financial aid is awarded. A student with an Expected Family Contribution of "0" is automatically awarded for the deferral if they meet the criteria.
