Thank you for helping us in the Department of Geological Sciences to grow our scholarship funds and for providing much needed support for our faculty and students!
We are seeking donations to grow two student awards honoring two of our recent Emeriti, the John D. Cooper Field Camp Award and the Prem K. Saint Hydrology Award. Both awards have current balances of approximately $5K, and they need to reach $10K in order to become self-sustaining.
We are also asking for your help to support the completion of the 450-foot-long, 4.5 billion-year-long Walk Through Time – a scaled timeline marking important events in geology and evolution designed for the educational benefit of the approximately 6,500 lower-division students we teach each year. We hope to finish installation of the Walk Through Time by the end of the year and your contribution will help make this a reality. You can also contact Doug Colby (see below) about an exclusive corporate or individual naming opportunity for the Walk Through Time.
As you may recall, the Summer Geology Field Camp is one of the most important and memorable experiences our geology students enjoy here at Cal State Fullerton. For many students, however, the financial burden of paying for the camp can be overwhelming. For this reason we have now established the Geology Field Camp Scholarship to help defray the cost for students to attend, and we ask for your support for this fund.
Of course donations to any of our programs in Geology are strongly encouraged and gratefully accepted. Thanks for your generous support!
