CSUF's Priorities
College of Engineering & Computer Science
"The best way to predict the future is to invent it."
-- Alan Kay, one of the inventors of Smalltalk programming language
developed at Xerox in the early 1970's.
Nobody knows who will be the next person to come up with an invention or discovery that will change the world. But it will likely be an engineer or computer scientist because these fields attract people who have the ability and the drive to find new ways of doing things. They expand the possibilities. They power the future.
The College of Engineering and Computer Science is in the business of educating these inventors of the future, striking the right balance between theory and practice, so that our graduates enter the workforce fully prepared to contribute to our future. There are more than 7,000 alumni of the College of Engineering and Computer Science who are making a difference in the world today thanks to the training, support, and encouragement they received here. Graduates have used the College as a springboard to launch successful careers; found new companies; and develop new technologies, solutions, and systems for industry.
Donors – alumni, friends, and industry – carry on this tradition by supporting scholarships, teaching and technology through the ECS Annual Fund or membership in ECS Affiliates. Affiliates members contribute $750 or more annually in support of ECS programs, including Senior Design Projects. By making a gift to the Annual Fund or Industrial Affiliates you can help shape the inventors of the future.
The College offers degrees in six disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Gifts to the College help fund scholarships, research
programs, and capital improvements. The College has major funding priorities and gift opportunities. For additional
