The
College
of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is dedicated to the principle that teaching and research are intricately mixed. Undergraduate research, overseen by award-winning faculty, is an integral part of our students' education. This fine balance between teaching and research is our greatest strength. It produces outstanding graduates who will most likely pursue postgraduate degrees. More often than not, these graduates find employment in surrounding communities, which provides a tremendous resource for the economic development of Southern California.
The college is organized around five departments: Biological Science, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Geological Sciences, Mathematics and Physics.
