A learning disability may affect the way a student is evaluated. If so, special arrangements may be necessary. Helpful hints:

  1. Arrange to take examinations in a separate, quiet room with a proctor. Students with disabilities are especially sensitive to distractions. Testing services are available through the Disabled Student Center at CSUF.
  2. Often professors and or the Disabled Student Center will grant time extensions on exams and written assignments when there are significant demands on reading and writing skills.
  3. Ask for an explanation of overly complicated language in exam questions
