Note-Taking Alternatives

Some students with learning disabilities need alternative ways to take notes because they cannot write effectively or assimilate, remember and or organize the material while listening to a lecture. (This is often the case for most students). Helpful hints:

  1. Again, ask for an additional note taker.
  2. Tape record your notes, material not found in texts or other accessible sources.
  3. Ask the professor for copies of his/her notes (if willing) and or transparencies.
