Gregory J. Saks
Greg Saks serves as Vice President of University Advancement at Cal State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), where he is responsible for all activities relating to the University's fundraising program, alumni relations, special events, government and community relations, communications/public affairs, and the CSUDH Foundation Board. In this capacity, Saks has worked collaboratively to increase philanthropic commitments by 80 percent, gift receipts by 157 percent, gifts of $25,000 or more by 120 percent, the total number of donors by 142 percent and alumni membership by 496 percent. He has also strategically grown CSUDH media placements by targeting media in the CSUDH service area and beyond and created a comprehensive government relations program, including the facilitation of federal earmarks and the cultivation and management of relationships with local, state and federal legislators and their staffs. With more than 15 years of experience in developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising programs for private and public universities, Saks' philosophy is to engage all members of the campus community in contributing and growing their university and to enable donors to find investment opportunities that best fit their interests.
Prior to working for CSUDH, Saks was Executive Director of Development for Pitzer College in Claremont. During his tenure there, Saks and his team were responsible for the development and implementation of all Annual Giving, Alumni Relations, Parent Relations, Donor Relations and Planned Giving. He provided leadership in their comprehensive $40M campaign benefiting the endowment, building projects, special projects and the Annual Fund. In addition, Saks increased parent giving by 203 percent and established a faculty and staff campaign, that achieved a 100 percent participation rate, a school first. As Director of Alumni and Parent Relations for Pitzer College, Saks managed the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations and established a network of 12 Pitzer Alumni Chapters throughout America and internationally. Before joining Pitzer, Saks served as Coordinator of Greek Life at Baylor University in Waco, Texas; Coordinator of Alumni Relations at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio; and Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs at Cal Poly Pomona.
Saks holds a bachelor's degree in History from California State University, San Bernardino and a master's degree in Higher Education Administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has extensive experience in Alumni Relations and has had much success in managing complex advancement units and integrating technology into operations. Saks is actively involved in various community leadership boards, including serving as a board member and chair of the Workforce Development Committee for the Torrance Chamber of Commerce.
