African-American Resource Center

African American Women’s Resource Center fosters an environment supportive of African American Women and the issues of concern confronting them.

The center provides current information on the status of women in the African-American community through their collection of books, magazines and research reflecting the African American culture. They also provide information and support through participation in Sistertalk, a weekly discussion group.

History

Through the years The African American Women’s Resource Center has evolved into a dedicated and visionary network of women. In 1989 a discussion group for Black women was formed by Margie Holland, English Major followed by Christine Aldrich and volunteer in the Women’s Center.
