Meet With Your Academic Advisor

Before you meet with your advisor, make sure you read Academic Planning for Study Abroad. Once you have this information, meet with your major advisor(s) prior to leaving in order to ensure a clear understanding of degree and major requirements you have yet to fulfill. With this information, you will be better prepared to choose appropriate course work at your site.
When you meet with your advisor, bring the following:

• An up-to-date copy of your degree audit.
• An Advising Worksheet.
• A list of questions and concerns you want to discuss, including the types of courses you should take abroad and what you should expect to register for the semester of your return.

After discussing your options and requirements, take all relevant materials when you go abroad. Be sure to get your advisor's e-mail address. This will be of assistance in addressing any questions that arise while abroad.
