Non-CSUF Programs

Cal State Fullerton affords students the opportunity to study abroad on any accredited program outside of the university as long as you can receive an official transcript from the institution.

The Study Abroad Office provides the following services for students on Non-CSUF Programs:

There may be some disadvantages to choosing studying abroad on an outside program. Read through the Disadvantages of Non-CSUF Programs to verify that you are okay with the process.

Guidelines for Non-CSUF Programs
You will need to fill out an application for Non-CSUF Programs. That information can be found at Process Prior to Departure. In addition, be aware that you will NOT be able to do the Non-CSUF Program process if you cannot follow the below guidelines.

  1. You will need to purchase international health insurance from the Study Abroad Office through Somerton Insurance. To see details of the coverage, visit the CSUF health insurance web page.

CSUF has a campus-wide policy that states every enrolled student abroad needs to have a certain level of international health insurance coverage and a signed Release & Waiver form. Both forms can be accessed with the Non-CSUF Study Abroad Program Application. Also read Cal State Fullerton's policy.

  2. You must receive an official transcript upon completion of the program. Credit from Non-CSUF Programs is reviewed by the Study Abroad Office and Admission & Records and posted to the student’s CSUF transcript as transfer credit.

Learn more and find a program on the Choosing a Non-CSUF Program page.
